A name gets used out loud, typed from memory, and stamped on everything you build. This checks the mechanical things that trip founders up, so you catch them before the logo, not after.

Got the name? See the brand identity package

A mechanical gut-check, not a verdict. It doesn't judge whether a name is good, and it doesn't check domains or trademarks live.

How does it judge a name without AI?

It checks the mechanical things a browser can measure: length, syllables, hard-to-say letter runs, spelling traps, and whether the name is a real word (looked up against a word list built into the page). No model, no server, nothing leaves your browser.

Does it check if the .com or the trademark is free?

No. Live domain and trademark checks need paid lookups, so this stays out of them. It only flags the likelihood, a plain dictionary word almost never has a free .com. For the trademark side, read can you trademark an AI-generated logo.

A great name scored low. Is my name bad?

Not necessarily. This measures the mechanical stuff, not creativity, meaning, or fit. Plenty of strong brands break a rule on purpose. Use it as a gut-check on what might trip people up, not as a verdict.

Real word or made-up word, which is better?

Neither wins outright. A real word is instantly memorable but generic and hard to own. A coined word is easy to own and trademark but you spend more marketing to give it meaning. The checker tells you which side yours lands on so you know the tradeoff you're taking.
